Welcome to Food as Medicine Global

Uniting Agriculture and Medicine to Support Food Sovereignty and Health Justice for All!

About Us

Welcome to our growing global network of farmers, gardeners, fishers, foragers, ranchers, subsistence hunters, healers, health professionals, hospitals, clinics, educators, students, wild-crafters, cooks, consumers, pastoralists, forest producers, and many others united by a shared vision of food sovereignty and health justice for all.

Together, we are cultivating a vibrant community where we can learn from one another and work toward a more equitable and inclusive food-as-medicine movement worldwide.

Our Why

The idea of food as medicine resonates with many in health care and food production. Nutrition is increasingly integrated into health professional training, patient care, and discussions around farming, fishing, ranching, and other food systems. However, people across many communities who want to eat well cannot access healthy or even enough food. Many of those producing and providing our food and health care navigate a multitude of inequities. Join us in creating a more equitable and inclusive food as medicine movement!

Note: Food as Medicine Global (FAMG) sunset as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on June 20, 2024. However, the FAMG community remains strong. Going forward, we will continue our work as Food as Medicine Global, LLC with a social justice mission focused on uniting agriculture and medicine to support food sovereignty and health justice for all. We will continue to host an annual eco-friendly online conference, publish educational content, and stay actively engaged in this online space to maintain connections and support food justice organizations and community initiatives.

Access to the Online Community Site: Current members will have continued access to the site through May 31, 2025 and receive a discounted registration for this year's Food Justice Conference. Conference registration includes access to the live event, as well as to the conference recordings and the online community site through January 15, 2026. For individuals purchasing membership separately from the conference, the monthly fee is $10.
